The DPA & GDPR May 2018

We and this website complies to the DPA (Data Protection Act 1998) and already complies to the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which comes into affect from May 2018. We will update this policy accordingly after the completion of the UK’s exit from the European Union.

We have official club profiles on social media platforms but users are advised to verify authenticity of such profiles before engaging with, or sharing information with such profiles. We will never ask for user passwords or personal details on social media platforms. Users are advised to conduct themselves appropriately when engaging with us on social media.

There may be instances where our website features social sharing buttons, which help share web content directly from web pages to the respective social media platforms. Members Information

We ask all members for some personal details ie Full Name, Address, Phone Number, Medical Conditions this information is stored electronically on a secure offline encrypted hard drive and a paper copy signed by the individual is kept in a secured filing system. Some information gathered on these forms will be taken out on events with the club to be used in the event of an emergency involving the individual we ask every member for consent to do this it is NOT mandatory. Information on these forms will not be shared with any third party unless consent has been given to do so by the form of a consent form signed by the individual. All members a welcome to ask at any time for personal information held on them by Meirion Amateur Radio Society or Meirion Raynet Group. This request must be made in writing or via Email (info@meirion-ars.info) once a request has been received all information will be passed on to the individual within 30 days FREE of charge. It is the responsibility of each member to make sure all information is kept up to date this can be done by Email, letter, or at any meeting information must be passed on to a member of the COMMITTEE. Members information will only be stored while they are a fully paid up member of either Meirion Amateur Radio Society Or Meirion Raynet Group. All information held on a member  who has left either group for a period of 6 months or more will be destroyed. Members who have left either group for more than 6 months and wish to re join must fill out new personal information and consent forms.

Photography

We ask all members to sign a photo consent for here is what we do with photos taken at our events and how they are stored.

Your image/images will be used on our website, social media, in media and promotional materials. All images will be stored on Flickr photo sharing website in public folders where anyone can see them and shared from there to our website (www.meirion-ars.info) images will also be stored on external offline encrypted hard drive for backup purpose. Please note that your name and call sign will/will not be published with the image/images.
